Environmental & Equipment Disposal Policy

Responsible handling of refrigerants, replaced equipment, waste, and energy-performance information.

Last reviewed

Agree removal and disposal responsibilities

Replacement and maintenance work can generate old equipment, refrigerant, oil, electronic parts, batteries, and packaging. The quotation should state whether collection, removal, transport, and disposal are included and who is responsible for each waste stream.

This website does not represent Arihant as a registered recycler, producer take-back scheme, or holder of an environmental authorisation. Request evidence of the relevant registration or authorised route where it is required.

Refrigerants and servicing

Refrigerants must be identified and handled using appropriate equipment and competent personnel, following manufacturer instructions and applicable environmental and safety requirements. Refrigerant recovery, leak investigation, and safe cylinder handling should be addressed in the service method.

Do not vent refrigerant deliberately, mix unidentified gases, or attempt to drain a system yourself. Restrictions differ by substance and use; no blanket statement that all refrigerants are banned or harmless is made here.

Electrical and electronic waste

Covered discarded air-conditioning equipment and electronic components should enter the applicable registered collection/recycling or manufacturer take-back route under India’s E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022, as amended. Bulk-consumer and other duties depend on the holder’s legal role and the equipment concerned.

Do not place such equipment in ordinary mixed waste or give it to an unverified handler. Request collection or handover records where relevant. Batteries and other regulated waste may require separate handling under their own rules.

Energy information and limits

For covered equipment, consult the current Bureau of Energy Efficiency label and manufacturer data when comparing models. Ratings describe standardised test performance; actual consumption depends on the installed system and operating conditions.

No carbon-neutral status, fixed energy saving, universal recycling rate, or environmental certification is asserted by this page. Project-specific sustainability requirements and evidence should be agreed in writing.
